first ride guide
Whether you’re new to rhythm cycling or a seasoned pro, our first ride guide has all the info you need to feel your best before, during, and after a ride.
let’s get you started on the right foot.
We mean that literally — everything we do at Cadence is to the beat of the music. Using a right leg lead, we move to the beat as a group. Your instructor will give cues throughout the ride to let the room know what this looks like. Anything beyond the beat is encouraged, but totally and completely optional.

Before your ride
HYDRATE. We can not emphasise this enough. Drink water throughout the day and be sure to bring a bottle to class. We have a cold tap on site to fill up before and after your ride.
FUEL YOUR BODY. Be sure you have enough to eat throughout the day. 30 minutes or so before your ride, have a light snack like a banana to keep you going through the class. Eating too close to the ride might cause you to have an upset stomach during class but it’s important to give your body the energy it needs.
WEAR SOMETHING COMFORTABLE. An athletic top, a supportive bra if you need one, and tights, leggings, or shorts that won’t get in your way will help you to feel your best. Even comfy underwear can make a difference. Bring socks and we’ll provide the shoes.
during your ride
HYDRATE. We’re serious about this one. Bring your bottle in - there’s a spot on the bike for it. There will be moments throughout the class where your instructor will remind you to have a drink. You will get SWEATY.
TOWEL OFF. We provide sweat towels for you to use throughout the ride. Have a look around the room to see where people put them on the bike for easy access. We want you to enjoy yourself and have one less thing for you to worry about.
TAKE IT AT YOUR OWN PACE. You are more than welcome to do your own thing and just take in the vibes of the room. Spend as much time in the saddle as you need to look after yourself and find the beat on your own terms. You might feel a bit lost at first and you are not alone. Even your instructor was a newbie with zero coordination once. Take what you need when you need it.
when you arrive
CHECK IN EARLY. Arrive a bit early so we can get you all set up. One of our lovely staff members will greet you at the front desk, help you with your shoes, and show you around. They were new once, too, and can help answer any questions you have.
CHOOSE A BIKE. When you check in our staff will show you a chart where you can select the bike you’ll use. We recommend choosing a bike near the back so you can get a feel for the class and follow along with the riders towards the front. If you want to ride the front row from the start, go for it.
SETTLE IN. Fill up your bottle, check out our fully stocked personal grooming bar, go to the bathroom, and make yourself comfortable. We have lockers with keys for you to place your belongings so you can have peace of mind that your things are safe while you ride.
Our instructors and staff will let everyone know when its time to come into the studio and help with bike set up.
after your ride
RE-HYDRATE. We’ll keep saying it until it sinks in. Your body needs water to recover after all of the fluids you lost through sweating during class. Cadence water bottles are available to purchase if needed.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR AMENITIES. We have fully stocked showers and provide towels so you can shower off without remembering to bring any extras in your bag. We have hair dryers, deodorant, hair bands and pins, and other hair products you might want to use at our personal grooming bar. Use what you need and leave the rest for the next person.
TALK TO US. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Tell us how we can improve so we can do better. Contact us directly on our website, email us, call us, or talk to one of our staff members in person. We welcome any and all feedback.
